Luxe | The VTOL Jetset

A familiar platitude of the optimistically minded gentleman, the phrase “Upwards and Onwards” signifies ascension to greater horizons. The aviation industry, long stagnated in the dychotomy betweenfixed wing or rotor wing, has very literally explored this concept hoping to establish the relatively new and exciting category of VTOL (Vertical Take Off or Landing).
At the leading edge of that horizon we find XTI Aircraft’s TriFan 600 – an aircraft that could revolutionize fast and convenient business travel. As the name suggests, the TriFan is composed of three tilt rotors, one of which is notably embedded into the fuselage of the aircraft. Capable of traveling private-jet speeds with the heliportable convenience of a helicopter, the TriFan can rotate it’s tilt rotor’s from a vertical take off position to a forward flight position to attain a top speed of 400 mph.
Further pushing the boundaries of technology is a hybrid-electric propulsion system. At the heart of this sleak ship is Honeywell’s LT900 turboshaft engine that powers three electric generators and dual electric motors which energize the fans. During take off one of the batteries kicks in to further power vertical take off.
XTI’s TriFan comes fully wrapped in a composite carbon fiber shell, all while promising a range of 770 miles, making it the perfect hangar buddy for your Tesla Roadster. With head turning looks and enviable performance, XTI Aircraft’s Trifan 600 is the developing aircraft to keep an eye out for in the future and in the sky.
